Any foreigner who is temporarily in the country can have access to and receive health care at hospitals and clinics in the case of an emergency, sudden illness or chronic disease. For faster attention, it is always useful to have an international medical and accident insurance.
The closest hospital is located in Santa Marta city, 40 minutes by taxi from Minca and 20min from Taganga or the nearby beaches. There are Health Centres located in Minca and Taganga, which attend to basic medical emergency care.
The yellow fever vaccine is not mandatory, but recommended.
